HD or IP CCTV combo: which should you choose?
HD camera systems carry video to a DVR over coaxial cable and often suit straightforward replacements or budget-led installations. IP cameras send video over a network to an NVR and may use PoE for power and data on one Ethernet cable. Both network-ready DVR/XVR and NVR systems can support mobile viewing when connected to a router and configured with the compatible app. The better choice depends on existing wiring, required resolution, distance, network design and future expansion—not only the camera price.
