How to View Your CCTV on Mobile from Anywhere

Brand-by-brand setup for Hikvision, Dahua, CP Plus and EZVIZ

Once your CCTV is installed, the most common question is: “How do I watch it on my phone?” Good news — it is easier than you think, and it works from anywhere in the world: your office, your village home, even abroad. Here is the exact step-by-step process for every popular brand we sell.

You need: a smartphone (Android 8+ or iOS 12+), your DVR/NVR connected to the internet, the brand’s app installed, and the DVR/NVR serial number or QR code (printed on a sticker on the device).

Hikvision — App: iVMS-4500 / Hik-Connect

1

Download iVMS-4500 from the Play Store or App Store.

2

Add your device by scanning the QR code on the DVR sticker, or type the serial number.

3

Enter the admin username and password you set on the DVR.

4

Tap Live View — done!

Dahua — App: DMSS

1

Download DMSS (Dahua Mobile Surveillance System) from your app store.

2

Tap + → Add Device → scan the QR code on the DVR/NVR.

3

Log in with your admin credentials.

4

Tap the device for live view.

CP Plus — App: CP Plus

1

Download the CP Plus app from your app store.

2

Register an account, then Add Device by serial number.

3

Enter the device password.

4

Live view is active.

EZVIZ — App: EZVIZ

1

Download the EZVIZ app and create a free account.

2

Tap + → scan the QR code printed on your EZVIZ camera or base station.

3

Follow the in-app setup — EZVIZ auto-configures the cloud connection.

4

Live view, playback, and alerts are all available in the app.

Important: change the default admin password on your DVR/NVR immediately. Never keep it as “admin” or “12345” — this is how cameras get hacked.
Not connecting? Check three things: 1) the DVR is actually connected to the router (look for the link light), 2) P2P/cloud service is enabled in the DVR network settings, 3) your internet is working at the DVR side. Most “offline” cases are just an unplugged network cable.

Final Checklist

  • App installed
  • Device added by QR/serial
  • Admin password changed
  • Live view working
  • Playback tested
  • Motion alerts enabled
  • Shared access set up for family

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I view CCTV without internet?

On the same Wi-Fi network as the DVR — yes, without any internet. To view from outside the house, the DVR needs an internet connection.

How many people can view CCTV at the same time?

Typically 3–10 simultaneous app users depending on the DVR/NVR model and your upload bandwidth. Family sharing is built into all four brand apps.

Why is my CCTV app showing offline?

Nine times out of ten: the DVR lost internet. Check the router, the network cable, and whether the ISP is down. If all fine, reboot the DVR and check its P2P/cloud status page.
