What is a CCTV BNC connector?
A BNC connector terminates the coaxial video path used by compatible analog HD CCTV systems such as TVI, CVI, AHD and CVBS. One connector is normally fitted near the camera and another near the DVR/XVR for each coax video run.

- Analog HD dome, turret and bullet camera installations
- DVR/XVR video-input termination
- Repairing a loose, damaged or oxidised coax connection
- 3+1 CCTV cable installations
Before ordering
Confirm the connector type matches your cable and installation method. Use correct stripping and termination tools, keep the centre conductor isolated from the shield, and test the completed video path. This BNC connector is not an RJ45 network plug and is not used for PoE IP cameras.

How many connectors are needed per camera?
A normal point-to-point coax camera run uses two BNC connectors—one at the camera and one at the recorder.
Does it carry camera power?
No. BNC carries the video signal. A separate DC connector and suitable 12V power supply are normally used for camera power.
